Life is Good

Life is good right now.  The weather is getting cooler, the days are shorter, and the Clouse Clan is falling into the school routine pretty nicely.

Actually the kids are wrapping up 1st quarter very soon. I can't believe I have a 7th grader and a 4th grader!  Time really seems to be going by oh so fast.

Some things I have been thinking about lately as I have been watching the news and reading other people's blogs (just my two cents)...

  • Marriage is hard work, but it is so worth it.  I value my marriage so much and I am glad I have a best friend to share my life with.
  • Why are there so many mental health issues popping up?  I work in a school and I feel it is becoming an issue at a younger age than ever before.
  • Social Media isn't necessarily a good thing. I feel all too often people voice their opinions (which they are entitled to do), but I don't think a social platform is the right place.  I share my life with my family and close friends and feel greatly fulfilled.  Why must I live my life out loud on social media?  I am not a private person, but I do believe not everyone needs to know everything going on in my life.  The irony is I'm writing a public blog post.  :)
  • Why don't we value marriage in this world anymore?  Why don't we value eating family meals together?  Call me old school, but I love coming home and actually being at home the rest of the night.

So many thoughts going on in my head, I just needed to jot a few things down.  I use to journal all the time and I really think it helped me. I feel as if there have got to be people out there who want a simpler life just like me.  I don't want to live in the country, I LOVE my community and close knit neighbors, but I do dream about stress free living.  I cook a lot, but wish I would take the time to bake too. I am not a huge sweets person, but I swear I think I was meant to live in the 50s.  If my kids could come home for lunch everyday, play in the afternoon instead of being bogged down by homework, and throw away our darn electronics and get outside more I would be a happy camper.

Feels good to put some of my thoughts on paper.  I need to do this more often.  Maybe I'll get better at writing too.  LOL  This blog post is a mess.
